To highlight Dutch sports related organizations, we will promote an OSF participant twice a month on our online media channels. This time we will bring the European Turf Group to the attention. ETG is an organization that produces and installs artificial turf. There has been talk with Arnoud Fiolet.
Can you give a brief introduction about European Turf Group?
ETG builds, produces, delivers and, if requested, installs artificial and hybrid lawns. We supply various standard products but can also offer integral solutions. What makes us unique is an independent and holistic vision on projects based on the latest technological developments. We have more than 20 years of experience in the sports infrastructure. We are part of the Recreational Systems Europe which also offers field heating, stadium lighting, hard court sports floors and panel base systems.
Our synthetic turf innovation has resulted in a 100% modular NEXXTURF grass panel system and the unique PINDOT tuft technology. Both are exclusive and only available at ETG.
What is the purpose of the European Turf Group abroad?
ETF wants to grow by offering specific solutions such as the PINDOT or NEXXTURF technology. Or by approaching sport specific infrastructural projects in a holistic integral way. As a result, there is no manual for our activities and tactics abroad, so we work from our own conceptual approach. 90% of our turnover is currently being realized abroad.
Can you give some concrete examples of successful projects in the Netherlands or abroad?
We are responsible for the largest project that has been realized in Europe to date. In 2015 we created a shooting range for the BAKU 2015 GAMES, a kind of mini Olympic Games. More than 100 countries were present here and we designed, produced and installed 136,000 m2 of artificial grass. The largest European artificial grass project in one location.
Why did you become a member of OSF?
We have several motives. We think it is a good organization with a general good cause. The OSF has a broader view of the world than we have and that information is useful. The network function of the OSF and the provision of input that we don’t have otherwise, is certainly a reason
What can you do for other OSF members and what can they do for you?
We can provide a conceptual approach to sports infrastructure in sports floors. This is always independent and flexible and can come from various expertises from ETG and her mother Recreational Systems Europe. What other members can mean for us is their network to jointly generate business.
