In order to higlight OSF members even more, OSF highlights an OSF member twice a month via its online channels. Heras is a total supplier of solutions in the field of perimeter protection. We spoke with Jeroen Huijbregts.
Can you give a short introduction about yourself and Heras?
My name is Jeroen Huijbregts and I am a marketing manager manager at Heras. This means that I am responsible for the marketing in the Netherlands. I work for the Heras Group, so I am in direct contact with several countries and our Export Department as well.
Since it was founded in 1952, the Heras Group has developed from a small Dutch family company specialized in fencing, to a total supplier of solutions in the field of perimeter protection with branches in 12 countries and with more than 1100 experts. Together we design, manufacture, install and maintain solutions that fit every sector and situation. We supply fencing, access & control and detection products. We also offer project management, system integration and installation, and maintenance services for perimeter protection projects throughout Europe. It is our goal to become the leading brand in the field of perimeter protection in Europe, through our commitment, expertise and reliability.
What is the purpose of Heras abroad?
By offering premium perimeter protection solutions, Heras protects what is of value to our customers. An effective perimeter protection solution is a solution that meets the security needs of our customers. It is a combination of fencing, access & control and detection. Other technologies and products can be added to this to increase the effectiveness of the total solution. However, the essence of perimeter protection never changes – you build a barrier, control access and signal when your security measures are violated.
Can you give some concrete examples of successful projects in the Netherlands or abroad?
Heras products can not only be found on many municipal sports grounds, but also in large stadiums such as the Amsterdam ArenA, the Gelredome and the Philips Stadion. For example at De Kuip, away supporters are led to the stadium separately from the rest of the audience. The separation material used for this is manufactured by Heras. We export to countries all over the world. Heras supplies regular mobile fencing to major sporting events. For example, we supplied fencing for the European Championship in France and at the last Olympic Games we delivered fifty kilometers of fencing in Rio. Heras also provided protection for the Stade Vélodrome in Marseille, which was renovated with a view to the 2016 European Football Championship. In addition to fencing, Heras supplied 150 ports for this project. Earlier, Heras secured the Emirates Stadium in London, the MMArena in Le Mans and the Cristal Arena in Genk.
Why did you become a member of OSF?
Besides interesting meetings / missions we can come into contact with other Dutch companies and experiences can be exchanged. It is also possible that collaborations may arise from this that would not have been discussed earlier.
What can you do for other OSF members and what can OSF members do for you?
Since we are already represented in a number of countries, personally or through dealers, we have a great field of work. It would be nice to be able to share experiences with each other. Despite the fact that we do business abroad, a lot of (combined) exports from the Netherlands are possible and if you can approach that with other Dutch companies, it only makes you stronger.
