From 17 to 23 May, a factfinding visit will take place to Brisbane, Australia. This factfinding visit is dedicated to the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2032 and is the first activity in a multi-year planning from OSF towards Brisbane 2032.
In the run-up to the Olympic and Paralympic Games, various infrastructure projects are being carried out, including the construction of 6 new venues and the renovation of 8 existing venues worth $7.1 billion. In addition, the Brisbane 2032 Games are the first Games to be organised in a climate-neutral way.
This offers great opportunities for Dutch companies. The Games serve as a ‘dot on the horizon’ and several activities will be organised towards Australia in the coming years to build relationships and take advantage of the opportunities towards Brisbane 2032. This factfinding visit provides an excellent opportunity to get involved at an early stage and position the company towards the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Brisbane.
The programme from 17 – 19 May is optional and this mainly consists of participation and a business meeting during the Magic Round in Brisbane. During the National Rugby League’s Magic Round, all matches are played in the same stadium, namely the Suncorp Stadium. The event attracts more than 150,000 visitors. The Brisbane Economic Development Agency has invited the Dutch delegation to a meeting with relevant stakeholders.
From 20 – 23 May, various appointments, visits and networking activities will take place, including the University of Queensland, various Olympic venues, Dutch Chamber of Commerce QLD, the Brisbane 2032 Coordination Office and the Queensland Government.
